What was the exact problem you were trying to solve and made you wish there was a tool that did it for you?
As a platform offering thousands of livestreamed editing and mixing sessions per month, we needed a faster, more consistent way for our engineering team to prepare their work. They were spending a disproportionate amount of time on tedious mix prep tasks like organizing and renaming files, splitting fake stereo, labeling tracks, etc, which slowed down session flow and ate into the time we could spend on more valuable creative work. We wanted a tool that could streamline this process without compromising quality.
How did you solve it before discovering Forte, and what was the cost in terms of money or resources?
Before Forte, everything was manual. Our engineers had to clean, organize and prep files one by one, which was not only time-consuming but also introduced inconsistencies and errors across projects. It often took them 15 to 20 minutes more per session than they'd like to just to get a mix-ready session going, and with our volume of sessions, that added up quickly. It also meant that highly skilled engineers were spending more time on admin tasks than creative problem-solving, which is not what they'd like to do and also not scalable for us.
How did you solve it with Forte, and what changed?
Forte really streamlined our post-production workflow. With just a few clicks, our engineers can now prep sessions in a fraction of the time - what used to take 20+ minutes can now take under 5. Most of what is session prep is now done via Forte, with all its automated workflows organizing tracks and files in a heartbeat. That’s helped us improve session efficiency, reduce human error and free up our engineering team's time and brainpower to focus on more complex, valuable and enjoyable tasks - like actual editing and mixing. The consistency Forte brings has helped us maintain a higher quality standard across our audio post services - and that means happier engineers and happier clients.
