What is fMusic for Logic Pro?
fMusic for Logic Pro is a native macOS application that runs alongside Logic Pro and automates mix prep and stem export, exclusively in Logic Pro. It is a standalone app, not a plugin: it imports your audio files into an open Logic Pro session, organized, named and routed to your template, and prints stems and deliverables back out through Logic Pro’s own bounce engine. It is sold as a single one-time purchase, with no subscription.
A separate product. fMusic for Logic Pro is the previous generation of fMusic, kept as a complete product for Logic users. fMusic Studio and Suite are Pro Tools only and are covered by the rest of this manual, starting from What is fMusic?. The two are separate products with separate licenses.
The two modules
Everything in fMusic for Logic Pro is one of two jobs, Import or Export, and both can run across many sessions in batch.
Import: mix prep on arrival
Point fMusic at your audio files and it imports them into an open session: your template, a new session, or any session you have open. Each file is recognized and sorted into an instrument category, then named and routed to match your template. Stereo-to-mono handling is included, so mono content does not arrive as padded dual-mono. You teach fMusic your template once and it is saved for every project after.
Silence removal is part of the import. Click Customize before importing, enable the Remove Silence toggle, set a threshold and a minimum duration, and run the import: your Logic Pro project arrives with clean tracks. See Remove Silence in Logic Pro.
Export: stems and alternate mixes
Deliverables are defined as prints: named exports you build once and reuse, each holding the tracks it renders. A print is either grouped, all its tracks merged into one file, or individual, one file per track (see Grouped vs Individual prints). You create them with Create Custom Print in the Export module, or straight from Logic Pro without switching apps: select tracks in Logic Pro and press ⌘ + ⌥ + C for a grouped print or ⌘ + ⌥ + V for individual prints. Each shortcut adds to the list, so you build the whole delivery first and then click Print Selected.
Print Selected opens the print settings panel: a base name for the files, the audio format, the bounce method (Automatic, Offline or Real-time), whether to bounce the master, bit depth and sample rate, Include autotail, Normalize, Add to project, and the export location. Then Print starts the export. See Print Parameters (Logic Pro).

The bounce runs in the background through Logic Pro’s own bounce functions, so printing does not block the session: you keep editing and mixing while fMusic keeps bouncing. Files come out named to the convention you already use, at the channel width set in your session, and with reverb and delay tails exactly as you configured them, since fMusic neither adds nor cuts tails on its own.
Multi-session batch
Both modules run in batch. Queue several sessions and fMusic opens, processes and closes each one in sequence, with no dialogs to babysit and no manual restarts, so a whole album can print overnight unattended.
What it does not do
- No surround or immersive formats: fMusic for Logic Pro exports mono and stereo deliverables. Dolby Atmos and ADM BWF are not supported.
- No loudness normalization or LUFS targets: your mix prints exactly as you set it. The Normalize option in the print settings is Logic Pro’s bounce normalization, applied on export when you enable it.
- No upload: the app runs entirely on your Mac and your audio never leaves it.
- None of the new-generation additions of fMusic Studio and Suite: no Organize module, no print preview, no tiers. See the comparison below.

fMusic reads UI elements in Logic Pro to communicate with it and only recognizes English. If Logic Pro runs in another language, automated steps fail. Change the language in Logic Pro’s preferences before launching fMusic.

How it differs from fMusic Studio and Suite
fMusic for Logic Pro and fMusic Studio & Suite share a name and a workflow, but they are different products for different DAWs, and a license for one does not cover the other.

If you work in Logic Pro, fMusic for Logic Pro is the product for you. If you work in Pro Tools, or in both DAWs, the Pro Tools side lives in fMusic Studio and Suite.
