Getting Started
What is fPost?
fPost is a standalone desktop application for audio post-production. It works alongside Pro Tools to automate the most time-consuming parts of session organization, whether you're starting from an AAF file or reorganizing an existing Pro Tools session (.ptx).
What fPost does
- Imports AAF sessions and extracts all tracks, clips, and metadata automatically
- Opens and reorganizes existing Pro Tools sessions (.ptx) without a full re-import
- Classifies every clip into Speech, Music, or SFX using AI, no manual tagging needed
- Lets you review and reorganize the timeline in the Visualizer before anything lands in Pro Tools
- Applies all your changes to Pro Tools in one step
- Maps tracks to your Pro Tools template via Template Matching, preserving plugins, sends, and routing
Two import workflows
fPost supports two starting points:
- AAF import: receive an AAF from a picture editor or another DAW, drag it into fPost, and get a fully organized Pro Tools session. See Import from AAF.
- PTX session: open an existing Pro Tools session directly in fPost to reorganize tracks, apply template matching, and clean up the layout before resuming work. See Organize a session.
How it works
fPost runs next to Pro Tools, not inside it. You bring in your session, organize it visually in the fPost timeline, then push everything to Pro Tools with one click. fPost handles the heavy lifting so your session arrives already organized, colored, and routed.
fPost is macOS only. It works exclusively with Pro Tools, no Logic Pro integration.
