Organize a session

Use this workflow when your session is already in Pro Tools and you want to reorganize it: reroute tracks, apply your template, and apply consistent naming and colors, without importing any new files.

1
Open your Pro Tools session

From the fPost Home Screen, click Use current session if Pro Tools is already open, or Open existing session to browse for a .ptx file. fPost opens it in Pro Tools and reads all its tracks and clips.

2
Review in the Visualizer

fPost displays the session with automatic classification applied. Move clips between tracks, rename tracks, and adjust categories as needed.

3
Click Next

This opens the organize configuration panel. Your session is already the target, no session selection needed.

4
Set up template matching

Map each track to a template track in Pro Tools. The template track will be duplicated and your clips placed on the copy, carrying over all plugins, sends, and routing.

5
Click Organize

fPost runs 4 steps: applying your clip movements, combining stereo pairs, matching template tracks, and coloring tracks. A progress dialog shows each step in real time.

The Organize workflow does not import new audio. It works entirely with what is already in your Pro Tools session. Use Import from AAF if you need to bring in new material.
