The Visualizer
The Visualizer
The Visualizer is where you review and reorganize your session. Your tracks sit on the left, your clips on the timeline, and all your controls are at the top. Nothing goes to Pro Tools until you decide it's ready.
Reading the timeline
Each clip appears at its original timecode position. The top bar shows the current playhead time. Click anywhere on the ruler to jump to that point in the session.
Clips are color-coded by category: red for Speech, green for Music, blue for SFX. The clip name and waveform are shown inside each block.
Zooming in and out
Press T to zoom in and R to zoom out horizontally. On a trackpad, use two-finger pinch. To adjust track height, use Option + Control + Up/Down.
Navigating tracks
Click a track on the left to select it. Press Up and Down arrows to move between tracks with the keyboard.
Selecting a region
Click and drag on the timeline to select a time range. The selection appears as a colored overlay. Double-click any clip to select exactly its duration.
The Visualizer has two tools: the Selector for navigating and selecting, and the Grabber for moving clips. Press E to toggle between them. See Selector and Grabber for a full guide.
Undo and redo
Every change you make in the Visualizer (moving clips, renaming tracks, changing categories) can be undone. Press Cmd + Z to step back and Shift + Cmd + Z to redo. fPost keeps a history of your last 50 actions, so you can freely experiment without worrying about making a mistake.
When you're ready
Click Next at the bottom of the screen to move to import configuration. Click Analyse to re-run classification on the current session. Click Start new to go back to the Home Screen.
