Getting Started

Before you start

fPost runs on macOS only. Before launching it for the first time, make sure your system and Pro Tools are ready.

System requirements

  • macOS 11 (Big Sur) or later
  • Pro Tools 2024.3 or later
  • DAW language set to English
  • Apple Silicon (M1 and later) or Intel Mac

Pro Tools must be set to English. fPost does not work with other interface languages. Change the language in your Pro Tools preferences before launching fPost.

Permissions

On first launch, fPost asks for two macOS permissions. Both are required to apply changes to Pro Tools:

  • Accessibility: lets fPost interact with Pro Tools controls automatically
  • Automation: lets fPost control Pro Tools via scripting

A dialog appears with instructions. Grant both in System Settings > Privacy & Security. Without them, fPost can open and classify your session but cannot send any changes to Pro Tools.

Before you launch fPost

  1. Open Pro Tools
  2. Open or create a session
  3. Verify the Pro Tools interface language is set to English
  4. Launch fPost

Checking your Pro Tools version

In Pro Tools, go to Help > About Pro Tools. The version number must be 2024.3 or later. Older versions are not supported and will cause connection issues.
