Bounce with shortcuts (Pro Tools)

Three system-wide hot keys create prints from the tracks selected in Pro Tools, without switching apps: they work while Pro Tools is in front, and they do not need Accessibility access. fMusic stays in the background; the print simply appears in your Export list.

The three shortcuts

• Print selection (solo), ⌘ + ⌥ + C: one grouped print of the selected tracks, soloed, rendered as a single file
• Print selection (mute), ⌃ + ⌥ + C: the same grouped print, isolated by muting everything else instead of soloing
• Print selection as individual tracks, ⌘ + ⌥ + V: one file per selected track, soloed

What happens when you press one

1. fMusic reads the tracks currently selected in Pro Tools. With nothing selected, a notification says Select the tracks to print in Pro Tools first.
2. One selected track names the print after itself. Several tracks bring up the Name your print panel (Enter your print prefix here:) with Cancel and OK. An empty name is valid, the print renders as Print N; cancelling creates nothing.
3. The range is your current timeline selection in Pro Tools. With no timeline selection, the print covers the whole session.
4. The print lands in the Export print list as a custom print, already selected for the next run, and it survives the list reset when you re-enter Export. A notification confirms it: Grouped tracks print created or Individual tracks print created, with the print name and track count.

The shortcuts are ignored while the queue is processing. On Intro, once the one-custom-print limit is reached, the shortcut posts a No print created notification with the reason; Studio removes the limit.

Workflow

1. Select a track group in Pro Tools, set a timeline selection if the print should cover only a section
2. Press the shortcut that matches the deliverable
3. Repeat for other track groups: each shortcut adds a new print without removing previous ones
4. Switch to fMusic when the list is ready, review the selection, and click Print (or Add to Queue)

Changing the keys

The three hot keys are remappable in Settings ▸ Shortcuts, under Export Global Shortcuts: click a key pill (Press keys…) and type the new combination. A global shortcut needs at least one of Command, Option, or Control, otherwise it would swallow that key everywhere on your Mac, and a combination already in use is rejected. Restore Defaults puts all three back.
