How to switch modules

fMusic has two modules: Import and Export. They handle different parts of your workflow and operate independently.

Switching inside the app

Use the I (Import) and E (Export) buttons at the top of the fMusic window. Click either button to switch. The active module is highlighted.

The fMusic icon lives in your macOS menu bar at all times. Click it to switch modules even when the main fMusic window is closed or minimized. This lets you trigger imports and exports without keeping the app window in the foreground.

Keep the menu bar icon accessible. It's the fastest way to switch between Import and Export when you're deep in a DAW session.
