Export Module

Full walkthrough demo

A complete end-to-end walkthrough of the fMusic Export module, from opening the app on a Pro Tools session to reviewing your finished stem files. If you work in Logic Pro, fMusic for Logic Pro has its own export workflow, documented in its own section.

The export flow, end to end

  1. From Home, use the Export Deliverables section: Current Session takes the session open in Pro Tools, Open a Session… lets you pick a .ptx on disk, which fMusic opens in Pro Tools for you. Either way you land straight on the print list, with no import step in between.
  2. The list holds your prints in two sections, Favorite Prints and Custom Prints. With the factory template loaded, Export seeds four automatic favorites (Full Mix, Instrumental, TV Mix, Accappella) so a standard delivery starts ready-made.
  3. Add what the delivery still needs: Create Custom Print at the bottom of the list, or the global shortcuts from Pro Tools, ⌘ + ⌥ + C (grouped, solo), ⌃ + ⌥ + C (grouped, mute), ⌘ + ⌥ + V (individual tracks).
  4. Set the range on any print that should cover a section instead of the whole session. A range is bounded by two time positions (Time), two bar positions (Bars|Beats), or two markers (Markers, a Suite feature; Time and Bars|Beats are in every tier).
  5. Select the prints this delivery needs: checkboxes on every row, shift-click for spans, Select all in the toolbar. Only selected prints render.
  6. Open Print settings from the bottom bar and set the project-wide parameters across its five cards: Naming, Bounce, Audio formats, Delivery, and Destination.
  7. Click Print to run now, or Add to Queue to park the job and batch it with other sessions later.
  8. The processing view shows the run advancing print by print, with per-bounce progress such as Rendering {print} — WAV 48k/24b under an overall progress bar.
  9. When the run ends you get the outcome summary (files rendered, plus any failed, skipped, or warnings) and Reveal in Finder opens the destination folder with your stems.
