Rename, edit, delete prints

Every print is editable at any time, directly from the print list. The quick properties live on the row itself; everything else opens in the print editor. To create new prints, see Favorite and custom prints.

Edit directly on the row

The chips on a print row are live controls, not labels:

• Mode badge (S or M): click to switch between Solo and Mute. The tooltip spells out the difference: Solo isolates the print's tracks while bouncing, Mute silences every other track instead
• Audio Format chip (for example Stereo · Single file): click to cycle the delivery format. On a Mute print the chip is inert, since Mute prints always render one summed file, so there is nothing to split per track
• Range chip: shows the range the print renders, whole session, two time positions, or two markers; change it in the print editor
• Mix source: a menu on the row with (Inherit) plus every route read from the session

Rename a print

Open the row's More actions for this print menu and choose Edit Print: the print editor opens with the Name field at the top (placeholder Print N, the name a print without one renders under). Type the new name and confirm with Save Print.

The print's name is the core of the output filename on the next bounce. The project naming from Print settings wraps around it: base filename, suffix, casing, and the per-format tag on additional format rows all apply to the renamed print like any other.

Edit a print

The same Edit Print editor changes everything the row chips do not reach: add or remove tracks (with shift-click span selection, or All / None), set the exact range boundaries, toggle the Favorite star, and, on Suite, set a per-print mix source or per-print audio formats. Confirm with Save Print, or leave with Cancel and nothing changes.

Delete prints

Three gestures delete prints:

• Delete Print in the row's More actions for this print menu
• Backspace with one or more prints selected (the same checkboxes that choose what renders)
• Delete selected prints in the toolbar

fMusic always asks for confirmation first: Delete "{name}"? for one print, Delete N prints? for a selection, with the reassurance No audio files are deleted — only the prints themselves.

What deletion means depends on the kind of print: a custom print leaves the session, a favorite is removed from your library and disappears from every session, and an automatic print from the factory template is dismissed permanently and not regenerated.
